Build a starting Numina character step by step, priced from the skill tables as this site has them — and told plainly what the rulebook leaves unpriced.

Unofficial. This page is a player's reading of Building a Character and the skill chapters, not a Staff tool. It prices only what the rulebook prints a number for: the cost to raise Prowess, Insight, Fortitude or Vitality is "Cost of next attribute" in the book's own chart, so a build that raises them is shown as a floor, never a total. Character approval is a conversation with Staff, and this page cannot have it for you.

The builder needs JavaScript. Without it, the ten steps are in Building a Character and every skill is in All Skills.

Step 1 — Choose 1 or 2 Aspects

These Aspects do not cost CP. You can purchase a total of 3 Aspect skills from your Aspects, and from them only one extra Attribute or Armor increasing ability. Aspects.

Step 2 — Choose 1 Foundation

This Foundation does not cost CP. You can purchase up to 2 Foundation skills from your Foundation's own table. Foundations.

Step 3 — Choose 1 Culture

This Culture does not cost CP. You can purchase up to 2 Culture skills from your Culture. Cultures.

Step 4 — Choose your one Domain

This Domain does not cost CP. Its Determination is included; its other skills are bought in step 7. Domains.

Step 5 — Choose up to three Excellencies

Your first Excellency costs five CP, each subsequent Excellency costs one additional CP. Three is a hard limit, and Excellency purchases must be unlocked in-game. The Excellencies chapter has no list to choose from, so type the name Staff will know; a name from Hidden Excellencies and Expressions is flagged here for Staff approval.

Step 6 — Choose up to two Expressions

Your first Expression costs five CP, each subsequent Expression costs one additional CP. Two at character creation; a third trades away the third Excellency slot and needs an email to Staff. Each Expression's first skill is included. Expressions.

Step 7 — Purchase Skills

Skills come from all the different things you have selected previously and also include Open Skills.

Step 8 — Purchase Prowess, Fortitude and Insight

Spend these attributes to use skills. Their cost per point is not printed in the rulebook, so this page cannot add them to the total. Attributes & Vitality.

Step 9 — Purchase Purpose

Void and Purpose allow you to refresh your other attributes after taking a Short or Long Rest. Void cannot currently be purchased.

Step 10 — Purchase Vitality

Vitality defines how many hits your character can take before they fall Unstable. Its cost per point is not printed either.
