Getting the Discord roles you need

Set your Discord display name to “Real Name/Character Name” (or “Real Name/TBD” if you have not picked one yet), then message a staff member directly and ask to be given the player or NPC role. This is a manual step on staff’s end, not automatic, and it is the single most common thing new players miss — skip it and you will not see channels you need, including the new-player and NPC ones.

What an event costs

The event fee is $125, and two nights in a cabin are included in that. It is worth checking the registration store when you sign up rather than assuming, because the fee has gone up more than once over the years.

Meals are separate, optional, and only offered at Camp Horizons — figure somewhere around $36 for two breakfasts and Saturday dinner. You have to commit to meals in advance; there is a cutoff roughly a week before the event and you cannot buy in at the door. Prince William Forest Park has no meal service at all, so bring a cooler or plan on a twenty to thirty minute drive each way to find food.

Prepaying the whole season in one payment during the early-year window earns half a bonus Character Point. The window is genuinely limited to the start of the year, so ask on Discord when it opens rather than waiting for an announcement to find you.

You can pay by PayPal to ZYZ LLC (@NuminaLarp), or by cash or check at check-in — that works at both sites, whatever you may have heard to the contrary. If you pay in advance, screenshot the receipt before you leave home. There is no cell service at either site, so a receipt you can only reach online is a receipt you do not have.

There is no late fee, and registration stays open right up to game time. The meal cutoff is the only deadline that actually bites.

Character Points and Post-Event Letters

You gain Character Points for playing, for NPCing, for submitting a character history, and for supporting the game through volunteering or prop-making. A big part of that comes through your Post-Event Letter (PEL) — a short write-up of what your character did — submitted through the online system after every event you attend, usually due by the Monday night after. Yes, even staff and NPCs write PELs; it is not a player-only mechanic. If the online system is down, email NuminaPEL@gmail.com instead.
